Retro Ride & Picnic 2010

Hey riders, it's almost picnic time again! I hope those old beauties are getting cleaned and dressed up. Let's get ready to show them off again.

The Retro Ride & Picnic 2010 will be held on Sunday, October 24, 2010, 12-3 pm, at the Bath House Cultural Center at White Rock Lake in Dallas. The address is 521 E Lawther Dr, Dallas, Texas 75218. Click here for a Google Map.

We'll fire the grill up at 12:00 noon and start serving lunch at 12:30. We'll have door prizes at 1:30, followed by a raffle, then if anyone is interested we'll have a social pace ride around the lake. We'll need a ride leader and someone to sweep. If you're interested in leading or sweeping please let me know.

This year we have sponsors for the event. Thanks to Richardson Bike Mart, Aussie Pet Mobile, Bianchi USA, Castelli, Powerbar, and Philip Delfeld for pitching in. Also thanks to Bill Courtney for setting up the Facebook event notice. Just as last year, we'll have door prizes and plenty of food.

If you have bike stands please bring them to display the guests of honor. I have several extra stands and will bring them, but we can always use more. Also, the more cameras the better! I'll create a picnic album on the web site for everyone to enjoy.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a free event for people who love vintage bikes, and everyone is welcome. Anyone who brings a vintage bike is welcome to a free picnic lunch, which consists of hot dogs, chips, cold drinks, dessert and other goodies. Anyone who would like to come and just admire the vintage bikes is welcome also. However, if you want to attend and not bring a bike but still want to have lunch, we ask a donation to help offset the cost of putting on the event. Either way, please RSVP so we know how much food to bring! PLEASE RSVP right here, or on the Facebook page.

For our event, vintage bikes are those which were made before 1989. If you have a bike that you're not quite sure about or want make sure it qualifies, please email and ask.

If you've posted the picnic notice to a forum, please post a link to this page so anyone wanting updated information can get it.
